President's Message
I would like to thank the Executive Committee, The Board of Directors and all the members for allowing me to serve this great association. Personal thanks to Dan Molloy and his past Board of Directors for their sustained efforts and dedication in keeping this association together during the worst housing market in the history of our country. We are now past our most trying times; our economy is turning for the better. We are seeing a rejuvenated housing market. This time is crucial to set goals and plan for our future. It is time to bring the builder members and associate members back together and formulate the battle plan to tackle issues we are going to face as growth comes back to our area. I look forward on working smart to effectively build a team of professionals that will carry us not only for this year but many years to come.
Our association will be concentrating on creating value for our members. To increase our membership we need effective programs for our members. Networking, the member-to-member program, a new TBBA website, a stronger governmental affairs program, and educational programs will be included in this plan. Focus on issues such as safety, insurance, financing, appraisals, and new code changes will be topics that are covered. The Green Building Committee is growing at an alarming rate and will continue educational sessions. We will also be asking the Big Builders to step up and support this association. We will reinstate the Big Builder Council to address issues that affect their business from governmental and developmental issues to product liability.
Last year was the year of survival. This year will be the year of re-building. Rebuilding the TBBA foundation. Rebuilding the membership. Rebuilding the financial coffers of this association to secure our future to service future downturns in our economy. It is time to join a committee that you feel passionate about and help develop the strategies for the future. This is a great association. I am proud to be a member for nearly 30 years. We need your help and expertise. Dividends are paid when you get involved. Make it good for you personally and your business.
